Disneyland 50
I have created my own weight loss plan and I’m calling it the “Disneyland 50″. I want to lose 50 pounds between now and October 10th when I am going to Disneyland with my kids. Today marks the 2 week point. I started with the EA Sports Active game for the Wii and joined it’s 30 day challenge, and of course I’m working toward drinking 8 glasses of water a day and I’m trying to make good choices when eating. After two weeks I have lost an appropriate 4 pounds and I am feeling fantastic! Since the 30 day challenge on the Wii has a two days of exercise and one day of rest schedule I will be adding some aerobic/weight training this week. (Joyce Vedral’s Bottoms Up workout – one of my favorites) I figure lower body on the first day, upper body on the second day, rest a day, and repeat. Add to that some crunches daily Monday through Friday. I have my sister and aunt joining me in weight loss and my 7 year old daughter and husband as my personal cheer squad.

I haven’t been keeping up with it in the last two weeks. First the kids got sick and now I’m just getting over it. I was doing the 30-day challenge and I do really like it and I’m looking forward to starting up again tomorrow. I lost five pounds after only 10 workout days on the lowest impact, but I started at 240 pounds. Someone who has a lower start weight may not have the same results. I like that the workouts have part weight lifting exercises (with the use of bands) that I have enjoyed in the past as well as a variety of sports that are similar to the Wii Fit. Such as basketball, tennis, boxing, inline skating, and volley ball. The only part that I truly hate is the running. Even at my fittest, I am not built as a runner. So overall I’d rate it at least an 8 out of 10. The workouts vary from day to day so there is no getting bored, and it’s really nice to show my trophy case to my kids. Then of course above and beyond the exercise the daily survey helps keep you thinking about daily choices to help keep a focus on overall well being. Tomorrow is a new day! Good Luck!
